In the collapsing Soviet Union, the Petrosian family finds themselves outcasts wherever they go. They are discriminated against because of their Armenian heritage, first in their homeland of Azerbaijan and then in Russia. Having found their eternal hope through a church founded by American missionaries, the hostility of everyday life forces them to seek refuge in the United States. In the shadow of exile, hope becomes their home. Based on a true story of faith and hope in the midst of great oppression.
